How to get here ?

Eco2 Diving is located in Mikindani on the southern border of Tanzania, right on top of Mozambique. More specifically, Mikindani is a small swahili village part of the Mtwara town.

If you are coming from Dar es Salaam…

By plane, you can reach us directly with a 1 hour flight. Precision Air and Air Tanzania both operate from the main Dar es Salaam airport “Julius Nyerere International Airport”.
Then, once arrived in Mtwara, we can organize airport pick-ups to reach Mikindani in a 20 minute drive.

Otherwise, for smaller budgets or looser schedules, you may go with a 9-10 hours bus ride from Dar es Salaam to Mtwara. To start with, this direct bus usually begins their journey from the main bus terminal of the capital in Ubungo (north west of Dar) before stopping in Temeke Mwisho bus station (south west of Dar) and the Mbagalala Rangi 3 bus station (further south west of Dar). So, pick your closest bus station regarding your location.
Meanwhile, you may reserve your seat in advance with one of the different bus companies (Buti la Zungu, Machinga, Tashriff, Maning nice…) and maybe get one of the VIP seat providing a lot more comfort. Tickets range from $11 to $20.
In the end, you can ask to the driver to be dropped directly in Mikindani. However, we may also arrange a pick-up from the Mtwara bus station.

And to conclude, for way looser schedules, you may take your time on your ride south and stop by to visit the swahili coast in Kilwa, Lindi, or other spots on your way down. Hence, contact us to have more advice and details about where to stop and what to visit around.
